Sclerotherapy

Sclerotherapy is a cosmetic procedure used to treat blood vessel malformations in order to improve the appearance of superficial red/blue veins and reduce associated symptoms. The 2 main categories of veins treated are telangiectasias or spider veins that are less than 1 mm in diameter or smaller blue reticular veins that are less than 3 mm in diameter. Larger varicosities would be treated by a vascular surgeon.
